I've had her for a while now and I have fallen in love with 13 inch laptops. It's bigger than a netbook, but still fits in my purse!
I'm a light gamer and have had zero problems. World Of Warcraft runs very well. Other low end games like Terraria and Minecraft work great, etc. Windows 8 wasn't a problem to learn quickly and it's really not a deal breaker as some people say. I had heard some people complain about the resolution of your screen and resizing windows and all of that, but that's not been a problem for me either. Browsers and photo editing software and everything works without complication. The processor speed and ram really make it a good machine.
Very glad I got this and for the price I was exceptionally happy! I spent several days trying to decide between several machines at $500 and less and went with this one. Glad I did.

I like the size and performance of the computer. I like typing on the keyboard. The touchpad is integrated into the palmrest so there aren't any cracks to collect dirt and crumbs.
I installed an SSD in mine. Be aware, that as this is in the "ultrabook" category, you need a 7mm thick hard drive, where as standard 2.5" drives are 9.5mm thick or so. I also installed Windows 7 and it works great. Dell offers drivers on their website. The label on the bottom identifies this as an Inspiron 5323.
The port covers are annoying. I'd rather have functionality over aesthetics. They open just far enough to connect my mouse, but it would just be better if they weren't there, but that is the worst thing I have to say about the computer.

I have had this computer less than 3 months and it has completely crashed. Dell will not help me because I did not pay for their extended warranty, which is $199. I just figured a laptop should last longer than 3 months.
Update: the third Dell person I spoke with finally acknowledged the existing warranty. So it will be repaired, but what a headache this has been! Cant say I am too anxious to buy another Dell any time soon....

Pros: price, seem very well built, keyboard, size/convience. When it was working, it was fast and ran very smooth.
The Issues: After about 4 weeks it would not boot. I sent it off to Dell service center and they needed to replace the motherboard, hard drive, audio board and reinstall Windows 8. Not sure what the exact issue was and Dell support has been somewhat vague. When the laptop was returned an administrator profile was setup and it would not allow me to create a profile. I was on the phone with tech support for over an hour for them to tell me the OS needs reset/put back on the computer properly (not sure why this was not fixed properly before sending back to me). Anyway they want me to buy an external disk drive and install Windows 8 again.
Overall I'm very pleased with the build of the laptop and wish that it would work.
UPDATE: I sent the laptop back and was given a refund. I do not recommend buying this laptop because of the 4 weeks issues (will not boot). I have found several other reviews stating the same issues as mine. It appears Dell's quality has lowered. I was also not pleased with the customer support.

I acquired recently one of the earliest Dell Inspiron 13zs and had to ship it to Dell for servicing. Much to my amazement, their customer service and technical support was absolutely first rate, correcting a flaw in the battery and conducting extensive tests to ensure that this laptop performed as good as new; I am also grateful to them for giving me a year's warranty on this laptop despited the fact that I had purchased it second-hand from Amazon's Warehouse Outlet. As for the unit itself, I am especially impressed with how quickly it loads web pages, due no doubt to having 6 MB of RAM. Despite its relatively slow 1.4 Ghz speed, it has performed nearly as fast as an older Dell XPS M1330 which I still use daily; that older Dell has a 2.2 Ghz speed. This is almost the perfect laptop for web searching. My only reservation is that it seems to be less durable in construction than the Dell XPS M1330 or some other Dell laptops that I still use. Those thinking of getting the Dell Inspiron 13z at its currently faster Ghz speeds will find this a very good notebook equal in quality to similar ones from HP and Apple.

This laptop exceeded my expectations, it is very fast, sleek, light, and just amazing. It is perfect for surfing the web, checking emails, and light gaming such as Garry's Mod, Minecraft, Terraria, and other light games. On high settings I get an average of 40-50 frames per second in Minecraft. On lowest settings, I get anywhere from 150-210 frames, To get this insane frame rate, I put this lapton on max performance and put the Intel Hd graphics settings on performance instead of quality. I am writing this review on this laptop and the keyboard is amazing, a little bit of flex with pressure but other than that this laptop is perfect for work and play, I would rate this laptop 10/5 if I could. Great job Dell, you really made a perfect PC.
